Papua New Guinea Visas

On Papua New Guinea Visas, The Australian High Commission Nairobi role is limited to issuing a visa once approval has been received from the Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority (PNG ICSA). The Commission is unable to accept visa applications for Papua New Guinea (PNG) or follow up on applications for PNG visas.

Do not send passports to Australian High Commission to have your PNG visa stamped in your passport without confirmation from the Australian High Commission that the authority has been received, regardless of alternative advice received.

For confirmation, please email [email protected]. The High Commission will NOT hold passports awaiting authorities from PNG. Issuing of PNG visas is not a while you wait service.

The Immigration and Citizenship Authority of Papua New Guinea (PNG) has e-visa portal: https://ica.gov.pg . The following visa types are now available as e-visas:

  • visitor
  • journalist
  • aid worker or volunteer
  • short-term single-entry business traveller.

All PNG visa applications must be lodged by the applicant directly to the PNG ICSA either by fax (+675 325 5206) or to the following email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]   It is important that you include both email addresses.

PNG ICSA can also be contacted by telephone on +675 323 1500 ext 1471.

Please note that lengthy delays in processing are to be expected and the Australian High Commission Nairobi is unable to provide updates on applications being processed.
